This picture shows unity because each part isn't passing the other, and they're all the same lengths. Also, the rectangles come together to make a square shape. I edited the picture so that the green on the block was darker, and I made the tanbark darker to bring out the brighter green.

Documenting the Blues in the Mississippi Delta - Variety

We chose picture #2 because it shows a variety of principles or elements of designs and art we learned in class such as lines, shapes, form, space, and texture. The trunk of the tree and branches of the trees shows lines and texture. You can see that there is a variety of things happening in the picture. You first see the fishermen holding a net and your eyes divert to the fish they're catching. The viewer's eye then notices the trees and surroundings where the fishermen are at.

I made the background darker to make the focus on the blue tarp. I also darkened the lines on the tarp to show the folds, and made the light on the tarp brighter. It shows rhythm because the tarp is moving up and "showing" the objects under it.

This picture shows pattern because the green and gray colors on the steps are shown one after another, which is pattern. Green, then gray. I cropped the picture to make the railings frame the picture. Then, made the light on the stairs a little bright, so that the stairs would seem brighter.
