About the Photographer
- Time Period: July 20, 1895 – November 24, 1946
- Location: Born in in Bácsborsód and moved to the Bauhaus for teaching. He then went to England and designed. He moved to U.S and became the director of the New Bauhaus.
- Object/ Subject: architecture, sculptures, abstract light, painting
- What makes the photographer unique? : Moholy-Nagy's influence on American art was felt broadly in several disciplines. Along with the other emigres from the Bauhaus, he succeeded in instilling a modern aesthetic into American design. His experiments in light and shadow reinforced photography's value as a subjective medium, and therefore an artistic medium, rather than simply a means to document reality.
Your View
- Why did you choose the photographer?: I chose this photographer because I thought he photographs were more appropriate to take pictures of. I also wanted to do his photograph that had to do with light and shadows.
- How did the photographer inspire you?: The photographer inspired me to use edits. He also inspired me to use light and shadows to make things appear the way you want it to.
- How did this change while working on the project?: It changed when I found out how hard it was to take a picture like the photographer.
The last picture of the hand should have been the "Can you not" pose and your first picture with the combinations was really cool.
ReplyDeleteLazlo Moholo-Nagy has a lot of abstract work and I like how your pictures synced with Alvina's whose blog post I cannot comment on.
