Final Exam

4. The photo that showed the color green in the right bottom corner of the picture changed my view on photography. It changed my view because it the green color brings out color, and we were "forced" to have a certain color in the picture and at a certain corner.

5. Shape is a closed line that is two dimensional and can show length and width, and form is three dimensional that can show length, width, and depth.

Form: http://clarissalandandbeyond.blogspot.com/2015/03/elements-of-art-form.html

6. Pattern is a repeating of an object or symbol on the work of art, while repetition is an object or symbol that makes the work of art seem active.

First Commercial Shoot (Free Spirit): http://clarissalandandbeyond.blogspot.com/2015/05/first-commercial-shoot.html
I think the Free Spirit was the best because we were able to pose like the models in the pictures, we were able to make the advertisement look similar. This project changed me by showing me that the photographer has to work with the models to get the correct feeling. Also, it was hard to get the correct lighting. I learned to see differently by being able to create the same picture, but different from the original, and when we went out to take pictures.

Student Website Reviews

Period 1: Cassie Shu
I think the best picture was the one with the girl being blown into the air by the whale. I think it's the best picture because she made it look like the whale is using its blow hole to propel her into the air, and it's creative.

Period 2: Serena Lightstone
I think the best picture was the of the sunset on the mountainside. I think it's the best picture because of the colors, and the lines of the mountain are defined.

Period 3: Pavi Bhatter
I think the best picture was the of the spaghetti. I think it's the best picture because the colors go well together, and everything is symmetrical.

Story With A Photo - Night

On the way home from dinner, I saw the different lights in the sky, and decided to take a picture. Also, the trees are blurry because the car is moving, so the sky is in focus.

MSJMCW Story

This is my first MultiCultural Week that I have experienced. It's interesting because there are many people crowded around in one area, the horseshoe. MultiCultural Week is a pretty good week because you can get food, have shorter classes, and have a longer lunch by almost an hour. There are many clubs and classes (2015, 2016, 2017, & 2018) that are selling these foods. They range from cake to burger to milk tea and Chinese food. Most of the upperclassmen, juniors and seniors, go out for lunch during this week because of the longer lunch, they can get better food from a restaurant, and they can drive. For underclassmen, like freshmen and sophomores, they can't leave because they can't drive, but some run to McDonald's to get food.
Also, during this week, students are encouraged to dress up for the different countries like Asia is red, Africa is green, etc. Then, at the end of the week, L2 holds 2 assemblies that honor the countries. At this assembly, students also perform cultural dances.

Shutter Speed

1. The shutter speed of this picture is fast shutter speed because you're able to see the other truck's tires. If the shutter speed was slow, the other trucks would be blurry.
2. One of my rules of composition is framing. This picture shows framing because the photographer is using the the truck on the road, and the truck moving on the right.
3. One element of art that is used is shape. The trucks (on the road and moving) have a rectangular shape, and their wheel have circular shapes. Also, the  road barriers have a rectangular bar between each section.
4. One principle of design that the picture exhibits is proportion. It shows proportion because the two trucks are actually the same size, but one looks smaller because of perspective.

My partner is Cara.

This picture shows unity because each part isn't passing the other, and they're all the same lengths. Also, the rectangles come together to make a square shape. I edited the picture so that the green on the block was darker, and I made the tanbark darker to bring out the brighter green.

Documenting the Blues in the Mississippi Delta - Variety

We chose picture #2 because it shows a variety of principles or elements of designs and art we learned in class such as lines, shapes, form, space, and texture. The trunk of the tree and branches of the trees shows lines and texture. You can see that there is a variety of things happening in the picture. You first see the fishermen holding a net and your eyes divert to the fish they're catching. The viewer's eye then notices the trees and surroundings where the fishermen are at.

I made the background darker to make the focus on the blue tarp. I also darkened the lines on the tarp to show the folds, and made the light on the tarp brighter. It shows rhythm because the tarp is moving up and "showing" the objects under it.
