My definition of successful is to do what you want to do, but it should be the right thing, or the it should be something that makes sense to your current situation.

I have given up on doing things with friends, and have given up on some people.

Parks gave up a stable, loving family to become successful.

Genevieve Young's father was a rich business man.

Parks was advanced $10,000 for the first 7 pages.
